for Land Rover Defender L663

This loom kit will help you to change the 11.4" screen for the 13.1" screen in the Land Rover Defender L663.

Not only is the 13" screen bigger it is also a more vibrant display and better to see in bright sunlight.

Early models of the Defender was only fitted with either a 10" or 11.4" screen.

This loom basically splits the single earth and power connection on the input side ( for the original 11" screen) to the double earth and power on the output side ( 13" screen ). The wiring diagrams say the extra power is for the haptic but our tests could not even get the screen to power up without the double power and double earth.

This is the only wiring modification needed.

You do not need to change the CCF files to update from 11 to 13" unless you want the haptic feedback.

The mechanical fixing of the 13" inch screen is different to the 11" screen so you will need to purchase a mounting kit (see our other items).

You have 2 choices of 13" screen to use:

1. 13" screen from the Range Rover models - see our part number PIV131

2. 13" screen from the later Defender models - see our part number PIV449

The Range Rover 13" screen can be purchased much cheaper than the Defender screen.

See our part number LRDI125-Kit to purchase a complete kit including this loom plus all of the mounting brackets required (this is designed for the Range Rover 13" screen).

Alternatively, you could use this loom along with the genuine Land Rover 13" mounting plastics and the Defender 13" screen.

This loom is only suitable if you have the 11.4" screen fitted to your vehicle - it is not suitable if you have the 10" screen - please see LRDI914 for the 10" to 13" conversion.
